The long running on again, off again Tevez saga appears to have switched back to on again this morning.
Although it appeared that Tevez was on his way to Man City, United now appear to be willing to meet the asking price agreed 2 years ago, and have arranged a meeting with the players advisors for later in the week.
With Tevez insisting on waiting until after the current round of internationals before making any decision on his future, United could get the jump on their local rivals, and strike a deal to retain the Argentinian before City have the chance to make an offer.
Whilst one stumbling block has been Tevez desire for first team football, he appears to be less sure that he will be leaving United now, and may be willing to fight for his place. Whilst Tevez did not start in the European Cup Final, neither did £30 million signing Berbatov, a fact which has not gone un-noticed by the Argentine.
If United are willing to pay the requested amount, and Tevez can be persuaded that United opearate with a squad rather than a team, United look to be in a much stronger position to retain their Premier League title than they did a few short days ago.

ReplyDeleteI almost lost hope him staying but still hoping for a twist somehow with the negotiation and that he will finally end up being a united player for good comes next season.
ReplyDeleteIt will hurt the most to see him playing elsewhere whatmore for City or Liverpool but surely we dont go around doing things just to prevent him from joining our bitter rivals. If anything i like us to sign him up because we need him for his contribution and nothing else. Other than that reason, i dont really mind if we have to let him go. It will still hurt thou but if we have other plans that didnt require his contribution, that is something i can live with.
hmmm...i still dont think he will end up with us. lets wait and watch. its going to be a long summer
